Pictures, but not of Berlin

They have been some calls for pictures of Berlin, but alas, I do not have my cable with me today, so those will have to wait. However, I will put up some other pictures to satisfy other possible curiosities. I tried to put up many more than this, but it kept failing. So here these are. Again, they look much bigger when clicked on and blown up.

This is the Parliament building, the third largest parliament building in the world. I was wrong earlier, the Reichstag is not bigger (I thought that was wrong when I saw the Reichstag and it was smaller). The largest is Romania's, then Argentina's. It is covered with gold flaking on the inside, but only above arm's reach so that no one can steal it. Anyway, here it is.

This is the view from Fisherman's Bastion of Margitsziget (Margaret Island). You can see the Water Tower in the middle of it.

These are the ruins of the 14th-century Franciscan convent on the island.

Joe,

Looks like you are having a good time. Jane passed on your blog to me. I'm glad you enjoyed Unbearable Lightness, but I'm sorry you were sick. Reading about all your experiences makes me eager to travel. I'll keep reading so that I can live vicariously through you.

You asked about books, and although it sounds like you have plenty to read, if you run across a copy of Borges' Labyrinth, I think you would enjoy the structure and puzzles of his writing. It's very mathmatical, if you aren't getting enough in your classes (which of course I've never even heard of). And if you travel to Greece, I would read The Magus by ... I'm blanking. Anyway. I look forward to more of your posts.

Cousin Tom

PS I went to sign off, and the blog already knows who I am. Weird. Scary.

The Parliament building is almost surreal in its size, also the steeple to the right, in the island picture looks very similar to St. Agnes in St. Paul, Mn

Who left that comment, out of curiosity? And Tom, I just put Borges down on my list of things to read when I was in Berlin, so now I will for sure read it.
