Luggage and Things

I went to the airport today and got my bags! They would have sent it to me, but I am dumb and didn't do much of anything right at the airport. Oh well, I got it now.

I went on a long walk yesterday. I went up to Varosliget (City Park) and then made my way into the trainyard accidentally. I took some pictures of the old abandoned trains, and then got yelled at in Hungarian. They asked me if I knew Hungarian, I said no, they asked me if I spoke Spanish, then Italian, then French. They knew tons of languages, but not English. So he let out a big sigh, and said "No picture. At station, picture. Here, no picture." And sent me on my way. I bought some oranges, and they were delicious! Halcyon and Jon are very nice, we've made pizza together and they took me with them to the grocery store.

I miss home. "Blame It On The Rain" keeps going through my head, and makes me think of singing it at DMRK. Anyway, thats all for now. I miss everyone.

Arrival

Well I made it. Didn't sleep at all, so I am exhausted. The airline lost my luggage, but the program director assures me it will be here in two days.
First impressions:
-My roommates are nice. My actual roommate is Jon, and then a girl named Halcyon Derks is staying with us until March 1.
-The apartment is cool. The ceilings are 15 feet tall, which is odd. It is in the rundown part of town, and the building is an ugly green color. But the way into our apartment is kinda fun. You come in through the main door, then go up a flight of stairs, then go back outside kinda, all the hallways are balcony-like things in the courtyard.
-The city is busy, and beautiful. A Tuesday night, and people were everywhere. All the buildings are marvelous. Lots of graffiti everywhere though. And not pretty street art graffiti like in Berlin, just tags. It is also pretty small for how many people there are. It's only about 2 1/2 miles across the heart of the city.
-The public transportation is excellent. Apart from the four subway lines (which are reallllly far underground, the escalator ride down takes 2 minutes 45 seconds!) there are probably 5 to 8 different tram lines, which are like the light rail in the Twin Cities. On top of that, there are streetcars everywhere.

Thats all for now. I am going to bed for the first time in over 24 hours!

Well, Picture 5 was the clear winner, with Pictures 1, 2 and 3 next, and Picture 4 well behind. I will probably rotate the pictures as the semester goes on, so don't worry if yours did not win.

Picture

So we have to decide what my picture is going to be, eh? What better way than by a vote. Everybody gets 5 votes, the maximum you can put on one picture is 3 votes.
